Community Meeting: Ontario's Energy Future
Tuesday, February 28th @ 7p.m.
Landon Library, Wortley Village(Old South)
Calling all London Energy Enthusiasts!
Did you know the gov’t is planning to soak taxpayers and consumers for a whole new generation of nuclear reactors? They’re hoping to re-build 4 more reactors at Bruce, 4 more at Darlington, AND build 2 new reactors at Darlington. If they get their way, Ontario could spend more than $80 billion on new nuclear projects, leaving green energy procurement high and dry come 2022 when new nuclear units come online, and leaving future generations with that much more radioactive waste to deal with. All this while cheaper and greener alternatives exist to meeting our electricity needs!
Let’s reach out to Bentley’s constituents by going door-to-door in his riding with this leaflet (and more), to encourage his voters to let him know what they think about the gov’t’s plans. If you can spare a few hours to (a) learn more, and (b) pound the pavement in London West to help shape ON’s energy policy, please come to the community meeting on Feb. 28th.
