Join the iMatterMarch on Mother’s Day
Live as if the Future Matters

It’s tough to be a mom. Not only are we responsible for the care and feeding of our kids but we have to slowly turn them loose into a world that we know is not always kind. And a future that – with bizarre weather patterns, nuclear meltdowns, and Justin Bieber as prime minister – looks precarious at best.

And yet...there’s much we can do. Which is where London’s shiny, new “I Matter March” comes in.

The I Matter March is part of a global initiative spear-headed by powerhouse youth, Alec Loorz, who, at only 12, created Kids Vs. Global Warming. With the backing of Sierra Club, 350.org, Peace Jam and even Al Gore himself, Alec aims to get youth and those who love them out on the streets and raising their voices to remind us all to “live as if the future matters.”

It’s a message that needs to be heard. Repeatedly, it would seem, by our politicians. Today’s kids will be dealing tomorrow with the policy decisions created by politicians they’re too young to vote for. And the lifestyle decisions created by their parents.

We can do better. Today’s kids deserve better.

That’s why I invite London (and area!) children and youth to join the iMatterMarch. Raise your voice, add your message and insist that all of us live as if your future matters.

Invite your family and friends, your classmates and teachers – anyone with a stake in your future. You’ll join other young people and those of us who love you in a dynamic, positive march that starts at City Hall and ends at Covent Garden Market, home of local, sustainable and progressive farmers and businesses.

You’ll enjoy other young activists who’ll be speaking, singing and creating change. Sign up online, challenge your friends, or other schools. Let’s make some noise!
